Back in 2010 when I originally started blogging about my addiction I also started a number of social media support groups the most popular being over on Facebook. Due to real world issues I had to pass ownership to a trusted admin and close down my blog so I could go back into work without these posts and groups potentially showing up.
Right back to starting this addiction blog I have wanted to create a new Facebook group where addicts can find support, advice and even just likeminded people to talk to without fear of being judged. The problem I’m having is I don’t want to use my personal Facebook account but the alternative account I opened keeps getting locked by Facebook. They request I upload an image of my face to check I am a real person and not a bot. Well I’ve done this about 5 times each time they unlock my account. Problem is within minutes of having access they then relock it.
I am exploring what options I have but rest assured I am trying to get another support group on social media. The last group grew very popular very quickly. I was proud of creating a place where addicts can go without the usual social stigma which I’m sure we have all encountered along our journey.
